This section
assumes that you know very little about Domain Names and provides answers to frequently
asked questions. Registering a new domain or
transferring an
existing domain name to
SYNCRONICITY does not require you to switch
Internet Service Providers.

What is a domain name?
A domain name is what comes after the @ in a e-mail address or what comes after www. in a
web address. A domain is typically the name of your company or organization. For
example, our domain name is
syncronicity.net

Why should you have a domain name?
There are several reasons - we will highlight a few:
- Registering a domain name ensures that your e-mail and web address will
NEVER have to change again - even if you switch Internet or web hosting
providers.
- It provides greater name recognition for your company or
organization. You will always be:
www.your-domain
- It's
the single most cost-effective way to protect or secure your trade name or
service name in today's global economy.
-
A new domain is being registered every four (4) seconds! The
longer you wait to reserve your domain, the more likely it is
that it will not be available tomorrow. Inevitably...someone
will take your name!

How much does it cost to
register a new domain name?
- New domain registrations and renewals range from $8.95 to $35
per year. You can reserve or renew a domain name for up to 10
years. There are several dozen domain ICANN-approved
"registrars" like Network Solutions, Register.Com, Tucows,
DomainSite and
GoDaddy. The "registrar" fees are not associated with Syncronicity's
service to its clients.
-
NEW Domain Name Registrations require credit card payment (Visa.
MasterCard, American Express or Discover) at the time of activation. You will need to
provide your name; card type, card #, exp. date, and zip code where the card is billed
to.
- Syncronicity does not
charge a fee to transfer an existing domain.

Are there any hidden monthly fees?
NO. Believe it or not, some ISP's, Telco's and web hosts still attempt to assess additional monthly or annual fees
to let you use your domain name in your web site or e-mail address. This
is
silly and defeats the purpose of having a domain name in the first place.
Don't be nickel-and-dimed by anyone!
ALL of our hosting
packages include the use of your domain name in your web and e-mail
address.
In fact, most of our
web
hosting plans allow you to add additional domain name "aliases" or
"pointers" to your primary website absolutely FREE!

What are the charges if I have more than one domain name?
You can register as many domain names as your budget allows. And
depending on your hosting package, we will point at least ONE domain name at your primary
virtual web site or IP address at no additional fee. Additional domains beyond your
package allotment will be billed $2 each per month.
Please
refer to your hosting package for the specific # of virtual domain
"aliases"
you can point at your primary site.
We can help you register
additional domain names as described above. Please

us @ 303.256.4657 with
any questions.
